It is in EXCELLENT shape for its age, but it may need a little sprucing up to be played on stage. I had great plans for the is guitar when I bought it, but I honestly havent done anything to or with it since I got it. We’ve also seen Moore play a Silvertone post-Sonic Youth. Some of the most notable budget-centric guitars that saw action included Lee Ranaldo’s pink Fernandes Strat copy, the East German Musima Eterna that Moore and Gordon both played. Of course, as with the vintage Silvertones and pawnshop Harmony holdovers, success inflates the prices and the now ubiquitous presence of the Fender offset is in no small part down to Sonic Youth’s influence on the wider alt-rock culture. Neck and action are pretty remarkable for one of these from this era. Everything else seems stock and not modified. The only non-stock part is a nice refret with larger fret wire and a new nut. That’s why the gear theft of ’99 was so debilitating.
